Awesome!

Just another blog. But this one’s good.

Guitar hero and rock band browser June 4, 2009

Hey all. Due to recent expansions of the rock band and guitar hero games, me and a friend discovered we needed a new way of browsing all the tracks. The rick band games alone, with DLC has almost 700 tracks, and it’s really hard to keep track of where they are, or whether or not they’re downloaded. The same goes for the guitar hero games, which is not only about to release its fifth iteration, but already has two band-specific games, and more to come.

So, how do you know, instantly, what tracks are in which game, whether they’re DLC or not, or if you have them or not?

Easy.

Me and said friend are now working on a social web app meant for this exact purpose. We will list all tracks in all games, even the mobile ones, and even grant you your own personal profile, so you yourself can do all these things, and more.

  • Complete and continuously updated list of all tracks in all GH and RB games, individually and total (that’s thousands of tracks!)
  • The ability to check and uncheck tracks to know if you have it or not
  • Complete lists with all tracks you have, and don’t have
  • Live chat
  • Direct links to iTunes/Amazon for purchase of the tracks, if you want the song outside of the games
  • forums for improvement and social talk
  • downloads(more revealed later)
  • news
  • User videos
  • Band/member discovery/invitations
  • lists and scores comparisons
  • User Profiles with avatars, lists of games owned, location and general information
  • optimized for both web and mobile platforms (iPhone, iPod Touch, Windows Mobile, Android and Palm OS’s supported here)
  • suggestions, FAQ and general information
  • Completely, absolutely and indefinitely FREE

This thing isn’t done, however, and we need more input as to whether or not you’d like a community like this. Think of it like facebook/YouTube for said games. It’d rock, right?
We’ve also still to find an actual name for the service, and we’d like your help and suggestions for this. You can comment here, or email me with your ideas.

Twitterfeed set up May 23, 2009

Went to twitterfeed.com, set up the account. Blog will now be updated way more often.

I’m also sorry I’ve not been able to update since March, but such is life, I’m afraid. I take pride in knowing that most of my entries are, if not often, at least smacked with great content.7

I was originally going to move this blog to another domain, allowing ads here, in order to haul in some extra cash from it, but as it turns out, it’s not really necessary at the moment, and to be fair, ads can be a bit annoying anyways.

That being said, I’m not against moving later on, but for now, it’ll stay here. I’ll even throw in a major entry later today(depends on where in the world you’re located, I suppose), but I won’t say what it is just yet. The tags might be a bit more revealing though.

That is all.
